Dolphins Sign Mike Pouncey
DAVIE (CBS4) – After missing two days of practice in training camp, the Miami Dolphins have signed Mike Pouncey.
Pouncey was Miami's first round draft choice (15th overall) in the 2011 draft out of the University of Florida.
During his time with the Gators, Pouncey started 45 career games, playing in 54 total games. Pouncey played four games at weak-side defensive tackle, 13 at center and 28 at right offensive guard. He also recorded 214 knockdowns and 30 touchdown-resulting blocks in three seasons as an offensive lineman.
With the signing of Pouncey, all of the Dolphins 2011 draft choices are now under contract
Pouncey attended Lakeland High School. His twin brother, Maurkice, was a first-round selection (18th overall) of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2010 NFL Draft, making the Pro Bowl as a rookie.
