MIAMI (CBSMiami) – It's no secret that the Miami Dolphins wanted to add a veteran wide receiver sometime this offseason.
It appears that the team has found their man.
The Dolphins have signed former Packers and Vikings receiver Greg Jennings to a 2-year contract worth $8 million, according to multiple reports.
Michael Crabtree, Wes Welker and Jennings had all been down to Miami's facility in Davie for free agent meetings but neither was offered a contract at the time of their respective visits.
Jennings, who will turn 32 in September, played his best seasons under Dolphins coach Joe Philbin when he was the offensive coordinator in Green Bay.
Though past his prime, Jennings still put up solid numbers last season for the Vikings, catching 59 passes for 742 yards and six touchdowns.
Miami had considered signing Jennings two years ago but opted instead to add Mike Wallace, who now plays for Jennings' old team in Minnesota.
The Fins receiving corps have gone through a bit of an overhaul this offseason with Wallace, Brian Hartline and Brandon Gibson being replaced by Jennings and Kenny Stills.
The Dolphins also signed former Browns tight end Jordan Cameron to replace Charles Clay, who signed with Buffalo.
Earlier in the offseason Jennings said that he hoped to act as a mentor to younger players while finishing out his career. He'll get that chance in Miami with Landry and Stills who are 22 and 23, respectively.
