DAVIE (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins and new head coach Adam Gase are slowly building a roster to his liking.
The team announced on Tuesday that they have signed quarterback Zac Dysert and tight end Dominique Jones to reserve/future contract.
Both have NFL experience and Jones was briefly on the Dolphins practice squad in 2012.
The Dysert signing is interesting as he has experience with Gase.
He played in Denver while Gase was there and was in training camp with the Bears last season as well.
Dysert was a seventh round pick of the Broncos in 2013 and was on the team's active roster the entire season.
In 2014 he was on Denver's practice squad before spending time on Houston and Buffalo's practice squads last season.
Dysert played for Miami of Ohio in college, breaking Ben Roethlisberger's record to become the school's all-time leading passer with 12,013 yards.
He will be competing for a job as reserve quarterback in Miami. Ryan Tannehill is the starter, longtime backup Matt Moore is a free agent and Logan Thomas was promoted to the Dolphins active roster late in the season.
