Dolphins Sell Naming Right To Club Level Seats
MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins confirmed Monday that the team has sold the naming rights to the club level seats at Sun Life Stadium to Bank United.
The 10,000 seat club level will become known as the BankUnited Club Level starting with Thursday's final preseason game against the New Orleans Saints. The term of the agreement between BankUnited and the Dolphins is between five and seven years.
"We are proud to partner with the Miami Dolphins yet again and to have our name associated with one of the premier sporting venues in the country," John Kanas, BankUnited chairman, president and CEO told CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald. "This is a tremendous branding opportunity for BankUnited."
The Fins are reportedly seeing an increase in club level ticket sales, according to the Herald. The seats are especially valuable whenever it's hot or cold at the stadium because fans can go into indoor areas away from the elements.
Sun Life Stadium has gone through multiple name changes and sponsorship deals since it was built by Joe Robbie in 1987. The team sought to upgrade the stadium in a public-private partnership with the county, but the deal was scuttled in the Florida House of Representatives.
