Dolphins Release Pre-Season Schedule
MIAMI (CBS4) - The Miami Dolphins released their 2011 preseason schedule Tuesday afternoon. The schedule features the Falcons, Panthers, Bucs, and Cowboys and all the game will be televised on CBS4, the official Miami Dolphins station.
But it assumes there will be an NFL preseason after the lockout is eventually lifted.
The Fins will kick-off the preseason in Atlanta against the NFC South Falcons. The Falcons are coming off an impressive 2010 campaign and are led by the quarterback Bill Parcells passed on, Matt Ryan. The game will be played on the weekend of August 12-15.
The Fins will return to the friendly confines of Sun Life Stadium the following week to take on the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers will have the number one overall pick in the NFL Draft on the field, and right now, all signs point to that being former Auburn quarterback Cam Newton.
One week later, in the final dress rehearsal for the starters, the Fins travel just up the road to Tampa Bay to face a resurgent Buccaneers team. Predicted to struggle last year, the Bucs instead turned in an incredible turnaround and wound up 10-6 for the season.
Finally, over the weekend of September 1-2, the Fins will play their final preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys. The starters will likely sit all or most of the game, so if you like watching backups fight for a few positions, this is your game.
