MIAMI (CBS4) - Lending a helping hand to make sure thousands of South Florida families will have a Thanksgiving dinner this year, the Miami Dolphins, the Florida Marlins and Hard Rock Hotel & Casino are donating hundreds of turkeys and their time to make it possible.
Tuesday morning Dolphins' CEO Mike Dee, along with players, cheerleaders and Dolphins' staff will deliver more than a thousand meals to pre-selected families at Sun Life Stadium. Later in the day, the Dolphins will hit the road and deliver 800 turkeys to individuals and families from a central distribution point in Miami Beach. The meals and turkeys were paid for by player donations and purchased from Publix.

On Tuesday, the Marlins will partner with the Jubilee Center in Hollywood where they will help prepare and distribute hot meals and distribute Thanksgiving baskets. On Wednesday, the team players and staffers will join the Hallandale Food Pantry and United Methodist Church to distribute turkeys and fixings to the needy.
