Dolphins Give Thigpen Second-Round Tender
DAVIE (CBS4) - The Miami Dolphins are trying to finish off business with players before the CBA expires at midnight Thursday. The Fins have put a second-round tender offer on backup quarterback Tyler Thigpen.
According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, this will turn Thigpen into a restricted free agent. Under the previous CBA, this would mean any team that wanted to sign Thigpen to a contract would have to give up a second-round pick.
But, there's no way to tell if a new CBA will void the tender offers teams put on restricted free agents will be voided or simply done away with completely.
Thigpen will be paid roughly $1.96 million in 2011 with the Dolphins, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
