Dolphins Continue Re-Shaping Roster
MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Miami Dolphins fans have long loathed the production from the tight end position. The Dolphins have been committed to Anthony Fasano for three years, but are still trying to bring in more help for the position.
The Fins have signed free agent tight end Dante Rosario. The former Denver Bronco and Carolina Panther has caught 82 passes for 894 yards and 5 touchdowns through his career.
Rosario stands 6'4" and weighs 250 pounds, but in 2010 caught just 32 passes for 264 yards and no touchdowns.
In order for the team to sign Rosario, the team cut inside linebacker A.J. Edds and center Joe Berger. Edds had been improving since missing his rookie season with a torn ACL, while Berger provided depth at center.
Berger's contract was inflated for a backup center, which is likely the reason behind his release.
In addition to Rosario, the Fins added 6'6", 328 pound tackle Ryan Cook to the roster. Cook will fill the role Lydon Murtha had before he was placed on injured reserve over the weekend. Murtha had surgery on his injury over the weekend.
