Dolphins Activate 1st Round Pick DeVante Parker Off PUP List

SPARTANBURG (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins' starting offense has looked very sharp so far during training camp, and it's about to get a big boost from a returning playmaker.
Miami's 2015 first round draft pick, DeVante Parker, has been activated from the physically-unable-to-perform (PUP) list. The move was made Wednesday morning as the Dolphins practiced with the Carolina Panthers at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Parker, selected with the 14th overall pick in this year's draft, impressed during rookie and mini camps but had to have a screw replaced in his surgically repaired right foot in early June.
He spent just over two months in a walking boot but has been seen moving around well in sneakers during training camp.
During Monday's practice, the final one in Davie before the team headed north to South Carolina, Parker was seen doing some light jogging around the practice field for the first time during training camp.
It appears that Miami's training staff liked what they saw as the rookie will now begin working his way back onto the field with his teammates.
Dolphins coach Joe Philbin said that he's optimistic about Parker possible playing in a preseason game, but the ultimate goal is to have him ready for the season opener in Washington on September 13th.
