Dolphin Mall Now Located In Sweetwater
SWEETWATER (CBS4) - The voters have spoken and they want the popular Dolphin Mall within their city limits.
The years-long battle between Sweetwater and Doral over the annexation of a patch of unincorporated land that the Dolphin Mall sits on has been decided by voters in a special election held Tuesday night.
According to the Miami-Dade Supervisor of Election, residents voted 68% in favor of extending the current Sweetwater limit to include the mall, which officials say is necessary to boost it's tax base.
The new Sweetwater limits are north to NW 25th Street, east to NW 107th Avenue, south to Flagler Street and west to the Homestead extension of the Florida Turnpike.
