Dolfan On Sun Life Renovations: "Haven't Been This Excited In A Long Time"

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Despite a little rain, true Dolfans came out Saturday night excited to see their team and their renovated stadium.
"I haven't been this excited in a long time and I've been coming for 20 years," said Doug Sparapani, who was tailgating before the Miami Dolphins' game versus the Atlanta Falcons.
Sebastian Fernandez couldn't stop smiling. He was giving players high fives from his leather seat.
"What other stadiums do you know that have reclining leather seats in the front row? No many other people can say that. It's an experience," said Fernandez, an end zone season ticket holder.
That's the exact experience the Dolphins are trying to deliver.
"I think it's amazing. Location is amazing. Seating is amazing. The food was terrific. The hospitality. Just great," said Dolfan Mike Amalfi.
Amalfi may have even convinced his wife to go to more games.
It's awesome. Incredible. I can't believe it," said his wife, Kathy Amalfi.
And fans were equally happy with the quality of the new concessions.
"I'm happy we have them right here at the Miami Dolphins games," said Josette Smith about the variety of options.
But there were some major hiccups.
Many of the concessions were missing something important – such as menus and prices.
Sloppy Joe's ran out of sloppy joes, before the game even started.
Michael Spets couldn't even beer at some of the stations.
"Some of the taps aren't working," he remarked.
And the longest line of the night was at the ATM.
"All the credit card machines aren't working," said Falcons fan Brian Reeves.
Dolphin season ticket holder Freddie Cornett added, "No credit card use. My tickets didn't work originally along with 5,000 other people. And that's upsetting."
In the end it took Cornett an hour to get to his seat.
And once the game started, so did the rain – sending fans running for the exits.
Dolfans for the most part, understanding, but are looking forward to what's still to come.
"I think it's awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing the roof on it," said one fan.
The fan was referring to the canopy roof that's coming next season.
The Dolphins expect to work all these kinks out by the first home game on September 27th.
Kinks or not, the Dolphins beat the Falcons 13-9 giving the fans two sweet victories.
