Disney Raises Prices, 2nd Increase In Less Than Year
ORLANDO (CBS4) - If you're planning to take the family to Walt Disney World this summer it's going to cost you a bit more.
For the second time in less than a year, Disney has boosted its ticket prices. On Sunday the price of a base one-day ticket went up almost 4 percent, from $82 to $85 before, before taxes.
On of the theme park resort's best selling ticket options, the five-day pass, went up nearly 6 percent, from $237 to $251.
A seven-day pass now costs $267 (an 8 percent increase) and a ten-day pass jumped to $291 – an increase of 11 percent.
Those who like to "park hop", or visit more than one park in the day, can breathe a sigh of relief. Disney only increased the price of the "park hopper" feature a buck to $55 for all multi-day tickets. It costs an extra $35 for single day tickets.
The price of annual passes was also increased by as much as four percent, depending on the pass.
The last time Disney raised prices was in August 2010 when, for the first time, the price of a base ticket was raised to more than $80.
