Wynwood-Area Restaurant Held Up By Armed Robbers
MIAMI (CBS4) - Miami Police are looking for three armed men who stormed into a Wynwood area restaurant and robbed frightened customers.
According to CBS4 News partners The Miami Herald, the men entered Joey's restaurant at 2506 NW Second Ave around 8 p.m. with bandannas covering their faces and ordered everyone to the floor.
"They said that if anybody made a sound they would kill them," said Sara Ataie, who was dining at the time of the robbery.
While one of the men watched the door, the two others took customer's cell phones and raided the cash register.
The incident lasted about two minutes, according to witnesses. No one was injured.
"All the other stores were closed. Many restaurants in the area focus on their food and reputation but don't take any security measures," said Ataie.
Anyone with information is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
