Deputy Chief Recommended To Be Miami Beach's New Top Cop
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - It appears the hunt for a new police chief is all but over for Miami Beach.
City Manager Jimmy Morales has recommended Deputy Chief Rick Clements to be the top cop. Clements has spent his entire career with the department and was promoted to deputy chief in 2016.
The city's commission must approve the recommendation before it's official.
Clements would replace outgoing Chief Daniel Oats who is retiring.
