Sketch Of Serial Robber Released As Victims In Deerfield Beach Speak Up

DEERFIELD BEACH (CBSMiami) - Deputies released a sketch of a man believed to be linked to a number of robberies in Deerfield Beach. On the same day, his victims spoke out.
Broward Sheriff's Office deputies believe, based on several clues such as the suspect's description and where the robberies happened, that it's the same man.
Investigators released a sketch Tuesday asking the public to take a good look and if they know something to contact authorities.
Deputies say the incidents span from just a day ago to back in August.
The last incident took place early Monday morning. When a man was held at gunpoint by an armed bandit while putting things in his car on Lock Road. The robber was reportedly wearing a multi-colored bandana on his face and had a silver gun. He got away with the man's money but not before pistol-whipping him.
"The only request I had when I gave him my wallet was, can I at least keep my ID. You know I need it for work. That's when my dog went to sniff him and I looked down and I pulled my dog and that's when he hit me with the weapon," said the victim who did not want to be identified.
They believe that same man was also responsible for two home invasions in August.
On August 22nd, a woman showering in her home on Lock Road was ambushed by a masked man who had come into her home. He ordered her out of the shower and shot her when she tried to run away. Deputies say the man told her,"Give me the money. I need the money." The masked bandit made off with her car keys and electronics.
Just two days later, a man was forced back into his home where he and his wife were tied up by a man and held at gunpoint.
"He threatened our lives on several occasions and ransacked the place," said the husband who did not want to be identified.
The bandit got away with electronics as well.
The man in the sketch is described as being in his late teens or early twenties. He is about 5 foot 8 inches tall and has short curly hair and a mustache.
"And to think that can happen in a neighborhood that you believe is safe, it's scary. I hope they catch this guy, I really do," said one of his victims who did not want to be identified.
Residents in the area are warned to be on guard as well.
"So far, he's struck in the morning three times before 9 o'clock in the morning. Lock your doors. Lock your cars and be aware of your surroundings," said Detective Mark Copley with the Broward Sheriff's Office.
