Deputies: Homeless Man Fatally Stabbed In The Keys
MARATHON (CBSMiami/AP) - A homeless man is facing murder charges after he fatally stabbed another man in the mangroves near Marathon.
The two men, at a homeless camp, began to fight over a missing bag Monroe County Sheriff's deputies said.
A woman, also at the camp, saw the incident and told authorities that 59-year-old Timothy Howard stabbed the 53-year-old victim with a filet knife.
The woman told deputies that she heard the victim scream and saw him fall into the water at the shoreline. The victim then got up and got on his bicycle and rode away.
Apparently the victim didn't make it too far as deputies report they found him dead nearby lying across his bicycle.
Howard was arrested and is facing murder charges.
