BOYNTON BEACH (CBSMiami) --Deputies are asking the public if they recognize a person of interest in a deadly shooting on I-95 in Boynton Beach.
Thursday afternoon authorities released a sketch of the man they're looking for saying he may have information about the case.
The sketch comes the same day deputies confirmed they recovered an SUV matching a description of the vehicle involved in the shooting. It's a stolen gray Kia Soul.
Deputies said they were looking for a gray SUV and a man described as dark-skinned with his hair pulled back and a thin build who was reportedly shooting.
The incident left a man dead in traffic and bullet holes in a second car Wednesday.
The sheriff's office said the driver of a white SUV was shot and killed as he was driving eastbound on the I-95 overpass of Gateway Boulevard. Investigators identified the victim as 31-year-old Antoine Smith.
His devastated family says they can't make sense of his violent death.
"He was the glue to the family," said Smith's sister Naijja. "He was on the phone with my mom, normal conversation. He never misses my mom's calls. If he does, he's calling her right back and he didn't call back."
The assailant was in the passenger's seat of the gray SUV as, witnesses said, it headed north on I-95 where there was an encounter with a second vehicle - a dark BMW.
A passenger in the BMW said a gray SUV slammed into them and they followed to get a license plate.
"Right after Lake Worth Lantana, they started, got out the window and started shooting and that is when they shot the front of the car, the windshield, the tires," said the passenger. "We're ok...just...just... I don't know..just really traumatized to know somebody lost their life right before us."
The driver of the BMW pulled over at the Lantana exit of I-95 where sheriff's deputies responded.
Investigators aren't saying how the shootings are tied.
If you have any information on either of the incidents, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
