Delray Beach Man In Jail, Accused Of Robbing 12-Year-Old Boy
LAKE WORTH (CBSMiami) – A Delray Beach man may have pushed the wrong buttons after he took home his hot date and allegedly robbed her young neighbor of his beloved Xbox.
The potential love affair heated up in early January when Jean Remy, 23, came across the social networking site "TAGGED".
Remy, also known by his screen name "Sean G", sent a message to a girl asking her out. Both agreed to meet up on January 23.
Remy picked up the girl in his Toyota and the two headed out.
Shortly after midnight, he dropped off his date at her home in the 4000 block of Lucerne Lakes Boulevard in Lake Worth, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
Just a short time later, her neighbor came banging on her front door: the neighbor's 12-year-old son had just been robbed.
The boy's mother was in bed with her 3-year-old son when she noticed a dark shadow walk past her door and towards the 12-year-old's bedroom, said detectives.
When the woman got up to investigate, her son ran up to her, crying and upset.
The boy had just returned from McDonald's and was watching a movie when a man walked into his room and pressed the barrel of a gun to the boy's forehead, yelling at him to "Look forward!" said the report.
The man then grabbed the boy's Xbox and yelled, "Where are the other games?" The boy told him that he didn't have any and the man ran out of the house, the paper reported.
When police arrested the alleged video-gaming vandal, Remy's date identified him in a photo line-up as the man who had accompanied her on the date. He also had dreadlocks, which matched the description of the man who broke into the home.
Remy was in a Palm Beach County jail Wednesday held without bond.
