DEERFIELD BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Deerfield Beach's International Fishing Pier has taken damage following the severe weather from Hurricane Matthew.
On Friday, city officials and staff will be assessing the extent of the damage to determine its safety before opening the pier to the public, located at 200 N.E. 21st Avenue.
Large waves and strong winds could be seen hitting the pier, despite South Florida escaping a direct hit from the storm.
