Debby Weakens To A Tropical Depression
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The center of Tropical Depression Debby has taken a southeastern turn just hours after making landfall and weakening near Steinhatchee, along Florida's Big Bend.
Forecasters predict the storm will resume its eastern trek late Tuesday or early Friday.
At 11 p.m. Tuesday, the storm was located 20 miles east-southeast of Cedar Key. The system's maximum sustained winds were 35 mph as it moved to the east-northeast at 6 miles per hour.
Even though the storm has weakened, the National Weather Service expects more flooding concerns in the Big Bend, as Debby dumps more rain over areas that have already seen five to ten inches.
