Deadly Triple Shooting In Lauderdale Lakes

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - An investigation is underway after a deadly triple shooting in Lauderdale Lakes.

It happened Thursday night in the 3600 block of NW 21st Street.

"I just heard shots being fired. I looked out my window and I seen that a lady was shot and I like, 'whoa!' I never seen that, nothing like that," said Terie Jackson.

The Broward Sheriff's Office said when deputies arrived they found multiple people who had been shot.

"Upon the deputies' arrival, they observed three victims of gunshot wounds. One was pronounced deceased on the scene. And the other two were transported to Broward Health Medical Center," said Broward sheriff's Sgt. Donald Prichard.

Shari Ashley, a cousin of one of the victims, said two of the people shot were women and one was a man. She said it was her cousin who was killed and that two of her children, an adult male and female, were shot by someone who drove up and began to fire.

"He came out and they were out here in the parking lot. There was a physical altercation and argument. And that's when he shot them," said Ashley. "I just know that her daughter was shot in the stomach and she was shot in the head."

Several people rushed to help the injured. One woman said she held pressure on a gunshot wound until paramedics and deputies arrived.

"She was telling me like, how the lady got shot in the neck," said Jackson.

Witnesses said the woman had a very serious injury. No one knew what what the argument was about.
