BSO: Dania Beach Hotel Bandit Behind Bars
FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami.com) – A Broward Circuit judge ordered West Park man accused of robbing two Dania Beach hotels to be held without bond.
Daniel Julio Fernandez, 28, was charged with two counts of robbery with a firearm after his arrest by the Broward Sheriff's deputies in Dania Beach Wednesday night.
According to the sheriff's office complaint affidavit, Fernandez was charged in the Nov. 13th armed robbery of a Courtyard Marriott at 400 Gulf Stream Way. Six days later he's accused of robbing the Sheraton Hotel at 1825 Griffin Road.
According to the arrest affidavit, the clerk handed over more than $700 to the man who left on foot.
The BSO was led to Fernandez by an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers after local media broadcast a video showing the robber in the lobby of the hotel receiving a plastic bag filled with cash from the desk clerk.
