Dade Elections Dept. Test Equipment Before Election Day
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – With just two weeks to go until Election Day, the Miami-Dade County Elections Department began testing its voting equipment Monday.
Election department workers conducted a "Logic and Accuracy Test" in which each step of the voting and tabulation process is tested in order to try and replicate Election Day conditions.
"This is just one of many measures that are taken during the preparation of an election to ensure that our voting equipment is ready for use," said Supervisor of Elections Penelope Townsley.
The elections department is not the only one that has to be ready for Election Day. So do you.
Due to the fact that the ballot is the longest in the county's history, long lines are a huge concern for elections officials.
Officials are urging voters to study sample ballots and be prepared when you go to vote.
Early voting begins Saturday, Oct, 27th.
