Dad Tried To Free Son From Gator's Jaws Of Death In Disney Attack

ORLANDO (CBSMiami/AP) — The father of a boy killed by an alligator at Walt Disney World last June tried to pry his son from the reptiles jaws as it retreated into the water.
A final report on the death released Monday by Florida's wildlife agency. Lane Graves, 2, was scooping sand into a bucket near the water of the Seven Seas Lagoon at the Grand Floridian when a 7-foot alligator bit him in the head as he bent down.
Graves' parents and several witnesses said they heard splashing and saw the alligator grab Graves by the head.
The report says Lane did nothing to provoke the alligator and that the death is classified as a predatory attack.
The boy's father punched and grabbed the gators snout to get to release his son to no avail. The next day Graves body was found intact not far from where the gator grabbed him.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission report says the boy died from a crushing bite and drowning.
The report says the alligator may have had a diminished fear of people by being in an area with lots of humans.
