A man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses barged into the Chevron Food Mart on East 65th Street in Hialeah demanding money.

Employees said he had a rifle.

"The cashier she sees him with the glasses. She thinks something is going to happen. So that's why she take the stick," shop manager Ingrid Ferrera told CBS4's Lauren Pastrana.

"He had a big rifle. He assaulted her and stole like $300," clerk Maria Lugo said.

Lugo wasn't working at the time of the hold-up but she was working that morning.

She said she thinks the same man came to the store earlier and stole her purse.

"He didn't see me. I was in the bathroom," Lugo said.

Investigators believe the man is about 5'8" and 175 pounds.

They said he has gold teeth and was wearing bright red Nike sneakers at the time of the crime.

"Things are bad," Lugo said. "Hopefully he has a change of heart and doesn't do this again."

The employee who was at the shop at the time is scared to work alone.

"It's really dangerous situation," said Ferrara. "For me, I hope he never comes back."

Police said the man got away in a silver 4-door sedan with black rims and smoked tail lights.

If you recognize the car and think you have information that could help cops catch this crook, call Miami-Dade Crimestoppers. 305-471-TIPS.
