Critical Mass Costume Ride May Tie Up Traffic Friday Night
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – There could be some traffic trouble Friday night in the Little Havana area of Miami and in Coral Gables due to the monthly Critical Mass bike ride.
The 12 mile Halloween Costume Ride begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Government Center in downtown Miami.
If you plan on heading into the area, make sure you leave extra early and be sure to watch out for the cyclists.
The Critical Mass movement is about having drivers respect cyclists and share the road with them.
The group also wants cities to invest millions in special bike lanes where they feel they can ride more safely. It does this by having the mass rides with the hopes of causing massive delays and frustration for drivers.
The ride takes place the last Friday of every month.
