Crist Committee Shows Support For Party
TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/NSF) - A political committee raising money for Charlie Crist's gubernatorial campaign has also shown support for the former governor's party.
The committee, Charlie Crist for Florida, has raised more than $1 million its namesake. They've also given $136,000 to the Democratic. The group made the disclosure in a post on their website.
The committee started raising money last month after Crist formally entered the race to try to unseat Republican Gov. Rick Scott.
Crist, who was a Republican when he served as governor from 2007 to 2011, became a registered Democrat in late 2012.
The committee website lists only one other expenditure, which was $1,538 for catering expenses.
Committees and candidates will have to file updated campaign reports next week with the state Division of Elections.
