Craigslist Ad Leads To Pair Of Thieves, Police Say
MIRAMAR – (CSBMiami.com) – A Craigslist ad led police to arrest a swindler, literally.
Police say a man who placed an ad on the popular website was targeted by two men who allegedly robbed him of $500 and two iPhones.
But the two men did not just take the money and run.
Police say on Monday – the victim – whom police did not identify – received a call from the same two men he believed had robbed him at gunpoint a day earlier.
The men asked if he was still interested in purchasing an iPad and three iPhones, according to the police report.
Hoping to get the two men arrested, the victim then called police and agreed to meet the two men in the area of the 2200 block of Sherman Circle S. with police waiting nearby.
Before the two men could reach the victim, police arrested them. The men arrested were Zachary Swindle, 19, of Miramar, and Devonte Suckie, 18.
Swindle appeared before a bond court judge and was ordered held no bond. Suckie was also ordered held no bond. Both were charged with armed robbery.
