CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami) -- Edward Hudak, Jr. was officially sworn in as chief of the Coral Gables Police Department, Friday.
Hudak, a 26-year veteran of the department, was first named interim police chief in 2014 after the sudden resignation of former chief Dennis Weiner amid a rash of home burglaries in Coral Gables. He was given the job permanently on the one-year anniversary of that announcement last month.
Hudak was sworn in at the Donna E. Shalala Center on the University of Miami campus.
