"Convenient" Miami Bank Convenient For Sunday Robbery
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - TD Bank's motto is "America's Most Convenient Bank", based on the fact that the bank is open 7 days a week. That was certainly convenient for one South Florida bank robber, who robbed a TD Bank branch near Miami International Airport Sunday, a day when virtually every other bank was closed.
The robbery happened just after 11 a.m. at the TD Bank branch in the NW 700 block of NW 57th avenue.
In images released by the FBI from the bank's surveillance cameras, the man, wearing a hooded green sweatshirt and dark glasses, walked up to the teller area armed with a pistol.
He took a backpack he was carrying, put it on backwards, flashed the gun to the teller, and demanded cash, which he stuffed into the bag.
He ordered a customer to the floor, along with some of the bank's employees.
No shots were fired, and nobody was hurt in the robbery. The FBI said the man fled in a newer model light gold SUV with dark tinted windows and Florida tags, although no tag number was provided.
