Winn-Dixie Skillet Meals Might Have Metal
JACKSONVILLE (CBSMiami) – If you buy Winn-Dixie's skillet dinners, check your pantry.
The Jacksonville, Fla.-based grocery chain announced a voluntary recall of its cheeseburger macaroni skillet dinners due to the possibility of metal fragments mixed in the food.
If you bought a cheeseburger macaroni skillet dinner from a Winn-Dixie store in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi or Louisiana, check your box for the following:
- Sell-by date of May 14, 2013
- 5.8-ounce package
- UPC code of 2114018080
Winn-Dixie cheeseburger macaroni skillet dinners matching those descriptions may contain small metal fragments, according to a report issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
"We encourage guests in possession of any of the recalled item to immediately discard the product or bring it back to their store," said Brian Wright, senior director of Winn-Dixie Corporate Communications in a release. "Guests who have purchased the product may visit their neighborhood Winn-Dixie to request a full refund, no questions asked."
To receive a refund, customers must present proof of purchase through a receipt or the product packaging label.
