Tuesday's Job Fairs Offer Plenty Of Positions
MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Dozens of companies looking to hire new employees will be at a trio of job fairs Tuesday in South Florida.
The Vanguard Management Group's job fairs, which will be held Tuesday in Miami and Wednesday in Cypress Creek, will feature more than a dozen Fortune 500 companies looking to hire recent college graduates for business to business sales positions.
On Tuesday, the job fair will be at the Embassy Suites at 3974 NW South River Drive. On Wednesday it will move to the Airport Sheraton Suites-Cypress Creek at 555 NW 62nd Street. Hire managers will be taking applications and meeting with prospective employees from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
In Miami Lakes a job fair will be held at Don Shula's Hotel, at 6842 Main Street, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thirty companies will be in attendance including Norwegian Cruise Lines, Comcast, Coca Cola, Cox Media, Winn-Dixie, Continental Group, Orkin, Crystal Waters, The Check Cashing Store, Pollo Tropical, Domino's and New York Life Insurance.
In preparation for its grand opening, Casino Miami Jai-Alai will be holding a job fair Tuesday and Wednesday in an effort to fill 350 gaming, service and management positions. Service positions include cocktail servers, bartenders, valets, security personnel and janitorial staff. Gaming positions include poker dealers, hosts, player's club representatives, cashiers, customer service attendants and slot machine technicians. Management positions in the fields of Marketing, Accounting, and Human Resources.
Hiring managers will be meeting with prospective employees on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Casino Miami Jai-Alai, located at 3500 NW 37th Avenue. On Wednesday, the job fair will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
For those looking to pick up some seasonal work, the Salvation Army of Broward County is looking to hire bell ringers. To fill approximately 100 positions, they will be holding a job fair at the Plymouth Colony at 1960 Sherman Street in Hollywood from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Positions start at $8.00 per hour. Applicants must be able to work Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. beginning November 19 through December 24.
