"Come Fly Away" Dancing Into Hearts At Arsht Center
MIAMI (CBS4) - "Come Fly Away" is one terrific blending of music and moves now playing at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Downtown Miami.
This Broadway musical brings together the iconic music of Frank Sinatra, along with the beauty of dance by famed choreographer Twyla Tharp.
Fourteen dancers tell the story of four couples falling in love, while Frank belts out those tunes.
"For him to tell his story with his music and Twyla through her dance, it's a perfect blend and mix," said dancer Anthony Burrell.
Cast members Ramona Kelley and Christopher Vo, two former Young Arts winners, treated CBS4's Lisa Petrillo to a few moves and say they are both thoroughly enjoying bringing this show to audiences around the country.
"I really am enjoying the show so much, falling in love with Ramona every night is not a hard task," said dancer Christopher Vo
"We were constantly working on things to improve, we works on lifts going higher – and how can we get better every night," said Ramona Kelley
Life has come full circle for dancer Julius Anthony Rubio, who graduated from Miami's New World School of the Arts and watched the Adrienne Arsht Center being built when he was in high school.
'I said one day maybe I'll dance there," said Julius "Now, it's really nice to be here and able to share that ".
And timeless music needs no words.
"The only narrative in the show since there's no narrative in the show is his voice and the way we move our bodies," said Julius.
"Come Fly Away" is on at The Adrienne Arsht Center now through Sunday, March 25.
