Cold Fronts Set To Send Mercury Plummeting
MIAMI (CBS4) - Some wet weather rolling across South Florida Wednesday morning lead to slick conditions in spots with temperatures hovering in the low 70's. That pattern of spotty showers will continue throughout the day Wednesday as a cold front slides to our South.
The winds have started to shift out of the north and northwest behind the front. This will bring with it much cooler air as the weekend nears.
Instead of highs hitting nearly 90, highs Wednesday will be in the low 80's. Wednesday night, temperatures will drop into the 60's rather than the 70's the area had been getting used to over the last week or so.
We will see more seasonal weather Thursday into Friday with highs in the upper 70's. Our average high this time of year is 79. Friday morning we'll wake up to the upper 50's and it may even feel like the 40's due to the wind chill.
Then the really big chill arrives on Saturday. Lows will fall into the low 50's into Saturday morning but could feel like the 30's and 40's in different areas due tot he wind chill.
Saturday afternoon, temperatures will struggle to hit 60 with a few passing showers possible. Then on Sunday, temperatures will again be chilly to start out the day with lows in the 40's and 50's. Highs will only reach the 60's again Sunday afternoon.
Temperatures should start to reach seasonal averages again by the beginning of next week.
