Closures Scheduled For Palmetto & Don Shula Expressways
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – More lane closures are on the way for South Florida roads early next week for the installation of new signs.
All of the northbound lanes of SR 874/Don Shula Expressway will close from SW 88th Street/Kendall Drive all the way to the SR 826/Palmetto Expressway beginning Sunday, December 22.
The closure will be for about 8 hours Sunday night, December 22 and 23 from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. The closures will also take place again, nightly, beginning Thursday, December 26th through Saturday, December 28. There will be no access to the SR 826/Palmetto Expressway from SR 874.
Anyone traveling northbound on SR 874 needs to exit at Kendall Drive and turn right. Then, continue to travel east on Kendall Drive in order to access the entrance ramp to northbound SR 826 on the right.
In addition, all of the southbound lanes of SR 874 will close from the SR 826/Palmetto Expressway to SW 88th Street/Kendall Drive on the same dates. However, the northbound and southbound lanes will not be closed simulatneously.
Motorists traveling on southbound SR 826 should continue south, exit at Kendall Drive and turn right. Then, continue west on Kendall Drive to access the entrance ramp to southbound SR 874 on the left.
