Clerk Injured In Lauderhill Store Shooting
LAUDERHILL (CBS4) - A convenience store clerk is in critical condition after being shot Tuesday night.
The shooting happened at the U-Save convenience store at 4039 NW 19th Street in Lauderhill about 10 p.m.
Witnesses say the shooter is a regular customer who got upset after being told he could not cut in front of other people waiting in line.
"I've been here 25 years and never had a problem like this. Customers are like family," said store co-owner Moe Nasser who witnessed the shooting.
Nasser says when the customer got upset his cler, 21-year old Ramzi Fogahaa, pulled out a bat from behind the counter. Nasser says the customer then came back with a gun and fired five shots.
Two of the bullets lodged in store's walls. Nasser said Foqahaa was hit in the stomach and the shoulder. Fogahaa may be temporarily paralyzed because one of the bullets is lodged in his spine, according to Nasser.
"We are all praying for him," said Nasser.
Lauderhill police are still looking for the shooter who was last seen driving a maroon colored car.
