Settlement Reached In Miami Beach Club Assault Civil Suit

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A settlement has been reached in a South Florida civil suit against Maurkice Pouncey, who plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Pouncey along with his twin brother Mike, who plays for the Miami Dolphins, was accused of attacking a gay man and his friends inside the Cameo Nightclub on Miami Beach club in 2014.
The Pouncey twins were celebrating their birthday at the club when he reportedly got into the scuffle.
Riquan James, also known as Ricky Vasquez, claimed Pouncey verbally taunted him with homophobic remarks and then physically attacked him. The lawsuit said Niya Pickett was beaten when she tried to intervene and Brently Williams was also injured.
The Miami-Dade Office of the State Attorney looked into the incident and declined to press charges against the brothers.
