Victim Identified In Fatal Christmas Shooting In Ft. Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – Officials have released the identity of the victim killed in a Christmas day shooting in Ft. Lauderdale as police continue to search for the gunman responsible.
It happened at about 7:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Breakers Avenue.
Police said the victim, Thomas Carroll, 46, was walking along the street when he was approached by the suspect. After a verbal exchange, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot Carroll several times.
Carroll died at the hospital, according to police.
After the shooting, the shooter fled in a silver four-door sedan, and is believed to have struck parked cars along Breakers Ave. and should have damage on the driver's side front-end. It is also expected to be missing the driver's side rear-view mirror.
It's not known if he knew the shooter. Police are still trying to find a motive for the shooting.
