Chris Bosh: I'm Rooting for LeBron

Interviews-wqam

Chris Bosh joined the Joe Rose Show on Wednesday, touching on a variety of topics ranging from his personal health, Pat Riley's comments about LeBron, and much more.

Below are the highlights:

His health:

"I have a new outlook on a lot of different things. You really figure out very quickly what's important. I really wanted little things that I couldn't have. It gave me a different insight. Now I'm just happy really to be here."

Riley's comments:

"I'll just be frank with you -- I don't know. He has to do his job and I know's he's gonna do a fantastic job and I know he's got a good plan. I'm sure he's just going to give all his energy to that moving forward. You never know what's going through his mind... He's very mystic. He's gonna say stuff and I'm like I'm lost what does that mean and It will make sense later."

Are you rooting for Lebron?

"I'm rooting for the guys. We all know how hard it is to win championships and to play basketball really at a high level on a consistent basis. He's going through the same things that we went through even more. I'm happy for him, I hope he has the most success he possibly can have. They're pretty good... I hope all the best for him and hope they're able to compete for it."

Comparing the Big Three of the Cavs and Heat:

"I stay away from it man. What we had and what we did is history and I don't think there's much comparison in that. Just in my opinion. But that was a while ago. In time as we get further removed from that team I think we'll realize how special it really was. That's just kind of how I take it. We had a chance to three-peat, went to four finals in a row, so I guess that's the measuring stick for all the new big threes now."

If Dragic-Wade-Deng-Bosh-Whiteside is Miami's starting lineup next season:

"I feel pretty good about it. Of course I looked at it very objectively because I had nothing but time and no basketball. So I'm very excited. I think we'll have a chance to compete at a high level, we just have to make sure we come together as a team."

On his role next year:

"I'm looking forward to get it more inside. I've had a lot of time to really look at a lot of film. I still do everyday and kind of digest everything and see where I could have done better. I could have done way better. I'm not going to be tough on myself but I could've done a much better job this past year but that's what it's for. It's there for learning. I'm going to learn a ton this summer and come back a much, much better and a more prepared player.

Outside shooting, urge to fight inside vs. outside:

"That's a part of the chemistry. The hardest part of the game is having confidence in yourself but at the same time being aggressive, looking for different openings..."

Need for more shooting on roster:

"I think that's something we definitely have to get better with. That's the only thing we're missing.... We just really have to improve guys' shooting that we have but, yeah, we need to add some dead-ice shooters if they're available."

Rise of Whiteside and if he spends time with him now in the offseason:

"I want to spend some time with him, really just get inside his brain and continue to see how he functions, what he's thinking about. I think he should set some goals for next year and try to reach that before next season and I just want him to continue to improve and get that hunger for it. I think for him he sees how successful he can be and if he works hard, he'll be able to obtain that success. I really want him to work hard and stay focused this summer and keep his eyes on the prize..."

Green light to play?

"I can shoot and move around now... Little by little. Of course you have to pace yourself and everything. I'm kind of really torching myself. I haven't picked up a basketball in a while. I want it to really hurt before I get back in the lab. I haven't missed it in so long, I take this as a blessing in disguise. I'm not going to touch a ball, I'm going to watch all the games, and really just really, really want and miss the game."
