Chris Bosh: "I'm Man Enough to Say I Like Katy Perry"

Interviews-wqam

Although the Miami Heat weren't able to take in the insanity of Super Bowl XLIX in full last night because they were traveling to Detroit for the second leg of a four-game road trip, Chris Bosh caught the halftime show and wasn't afraid to admit Katy Perry's performance was "pretty cool."

"You do it at your own risk," Bosh said of endorsing the pop sensation in front of his teammates on WQAM's Marc Hochman Show with Zach Krantz. "I'm man enough to say I like Katy Perry. I like her music. She's a great superstar. Everybody's not going to say that."

Another potential emerging star is Heat teammate Hassan Whiteside, coming off a fantastic month of January when he averaged 13.0 points 10.6 rebounds and 3.4 blocks in limited minutes. Bosh is thankful to have the seven-footer by his side, making his life easier in the paint.

"It's been great but the thing I like most about it is he's not doing anything that is abnormal to him," Bosh said. "He's doing what he's good at. He's always been a shot blocker and a rebounder, really just a force in the middle and that's kind of that thing we were missing.

"For me it just really helps me out not having to battle those bigger guys. I'll tell you that has been a challenge night in and night out for me when I had to do that. It takes a lot of pressure off."

As the team looks to rack up their second consecutive win against Stan Van Gundy and the Pistons on Tuesday, Hoch, Krantz, and Bosh shared a moment of thanks in honor of South Florida weather.

"It's different man," Bosh said of Detroit's frosty streets. "It just shows you how easy it is down in Miami. It's 80 -- you get to go outside in whatever you have on. Here, you've got to have a lot more, you've got to warm up your car -- I love Miami."

God bless Miami winters.
