Chilly Start Then Lots Of Afternoon Sun
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - South Florida will see gorgeous weather Sunday afternoon with highs reaching 68 to 70 degrees.
Plenty of sunshine will be all around. Winds will be out of the north and west at 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday morning temperatures were extra chilly across the area with many inland spots waking up to the upper 30s. The Redland area of Miami-Dade County saw 34 degrees.
Sunday night will not be as cold.
A front sliding down the state will bring an increase of clouds late in the day and help to increase the moisture in the atmosphere a small amount. That will allow temperatures to remain in the middle 50s for the coastal communities and a few inland spots near the Everglades will see some upper 40s.
Boaters will see a nice day with winds out of the NW at 10 to 15 knots. Seas will be 2 to 4 feet and occasionally up to 5 feet.
The front that moves through Sunday will stall out to the south of the area and may bring a slight chance of a shower overnight Monday.
The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday will be a bit warmer with highs near 75 degrees with mostly sunny skies.
Another cold front moves into the region Tuesday. The front will reinforce the cooler and drier air that has been felt across the area.
Overnight temperatures for the week will not be as chilly with lows reaching the 50s in most areas.
