Police Need To ID Child Found In Miami Gardens

MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Miami Beach Police want to know if someone recognizes a boy found in Miami Gardens.

A Good Samaritan found the child on Tuesday.

That person brought the child to Miami Beach Police Department.

Authorities have not been able to identify him.

The child is now in the custody of the Department of Children and Families.

The department issued a statement on the matter saying in part,

"The department has opened a Child Protective Investigation for this child. We will continue to work with local law enforcement to ensure his safety and well-being."
