Changes Made To Universal's Harry Potter Roller Coaster
ORLANDO (CBS4) – After two riders were hit by flying objects in recent weeks, Universal Studios Resort has made changes to the Dragon Challenge roller coaster in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
The coaster, which used to be known as Dueling Dragons, has several sections where two different coaster trains would come close together or duel. It was during these intersections where two people said they were hit by flying objects.
In the most recent case, a 19-year-old from Ohio riding on the coaster with his sister said something struck him in his foot, arm and face. Another rider also reported being struck in the eye by something at a point in the ride when the two coaster trains come close together.
Universal told WKMG in Orlando that they believe that the ride itself has not played any part in either of the reported injuries. Spokesman Tom Schroder said that as the park studies what happened, both coasters will operate without their usual intersection points.
