Cessna Makes Emergency Landing On Road In Homestead
HOMESTEAD (CBSMiami) – A single-engine Cessna 152 had to make an emergency landing on a road eight miles southwest of Tamiami on a road, according to the FAA.
Two people were on board the plane when it made the unexpected landing, but neither was injured. The plane is owned by C&G Aircraft Maintenance, Inc. which is based in south Miami-Dade County.
From Chopper 4, the plane could be seen on the side of a road with its nose facing into a slightly wooded area. No damage could be seen from Chopper 4's perspective over the scene.
The emergency landing comes less than 24 hours after a helicopter with two people on board crashed just after taking off from the Tamiami Airport. Both people on board the helicopter were killed.
In addition, another incident Tuesday night saw a different plane make an emergency landing on U.S. 27. The plane involved in the U.S. 27 incident wasn't damaged and there were no injuries. The plane later took off using the same road as a runway.
