CBS4's Eliott Rodriguez & Irika Sargent Get Soaked For Charity
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – CBS4 News Anchors Eliott Rodriguez and Irika Sargent are getting in on the ice bucket challenge.
Rodriguez took cellphone video of himself participating in the "douse or donate" challenge that's designed to raise awareness and money for a variety of causes.
The campaign has people drenching themselves with a bucket of ice cold water, capturing it on social media and then challenging others to do the same, or make a donation to charity within 24 hours.
It's cold, it's fun, and it's contagious.

But these ice bucket challenges are also raising awareness and money for causes such as Lou Gehrig's disease, breast cancer, and a camp for kids who have lost their father's to war.
Eliott was asked by his friend Ricky Sierra to take part on behalf of his mother who suffers from ALS. He was also challenged by his nephew.
After completing his chilly task, Eliott challenged CBS4 Anchor Irika Sargent and CBS4 Meteorologist John Gerard to take the ice bucket challenge or pay $100 to a charity to help fight ALS.
Irika accepted immediately and braved an ice cold soaking.
Irika then forwarded the challenge to her co-anchor Rick Folbaum?
Will he accept the challenge? What about John Gerard?

For those who work to raise awareness of ALS, the ice bucket challenge has been a windfall.
From July 29 to August 12, the national office of The ALS Association has received $2.3 million compared with $25,000 in donations during the same time period last year. For most charities, August is typically a very slow time of year for fundraising as people are getting back from family vacations and getting kids ready for school.
In Florida, the challenge has been taken by The Tampa Bay Lightning; The Tampa Bay Rays' mascot, Raymond; The University of Florida's mascot, Albert the Alligator; Florida Tech head coach, Steven Englehart; and Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Paul Posluszny.
