CBS4 Anchor Desk Has A New Home
MIAMI (CBS4)- Have you noticed our new set at CBS4/TV33? It's about two feet wider than it used to be. So where did our last set go?
That set was donated to Miami Palmetto Senior High to the TV production department.
TV Productions student Kimberlyn Fong said the new addition is an upgrade.
"Hopefully this will give us a more professional, upgraded and modern look," she said.
Fong helped pick up the set from CBS4/TV33 in Doral.
She said, "Everything we see here at CBS4 we try to replicate at out school."
Teacher Jay Salon said the new desk helps the students' professionalism.
"Look at this…beautiful, with light and everything," he said.
CBS4's Cynthia Demos sat on the set and reminded them that it shows fingerprints so it has to be cleaned regularly.
The original desk the students used was donated 23 years ago.
Demos knows that old desk well. She was the first Palmetto Senior High anchor to sit behind that desk and it hasn't been replaced since she was the first school anchor there in 1989.
The students said their old desk was so old it would fall down while they were using it and they had to hold it up with their knees.
Now the desk will live on, probably for another 23 years, at WPAW.
