CBS Cancels "CSI: Miami"
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Horatio Caine is leaving Miami for good. CBS announced Sunday it canceled CSI: Miami and freshmen dramas Unforgettable and A Gifted Man, but closed a deal with Ashton Kutcher and renewed Two and a Half Men for a 10th season.
CSI Miami, which starred David Caruso, aired more than 200 episodes in its 10-year run.
In a statement, CBS said: "'CSI: Miami' leaves an amazing television legacy — a signature look and style, global popularity and as a key player in CBS' rise to the top over the past decade. We thank all the producers — led by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and Ann Donahue — and its talented cast, led by David Caruso, for 10 outstanding seasons. Viewers around the world will continue to enjoy rebroadcasts of 'CSI: Miami' in syndication and on key digital platforms for many years to come."
The series, which is primarily shot in California, is a spin-off of the "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" TV franchise. The original "CSI" and "CSI: NY" are expected to remain on the air.
CBS also axed two midseason series, cop drama NYC 22 and Rob Schneider sitcom Rob.
CBS's new fall lineup will be official unveiled Wednesday.
