CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami) – The University of Miami Women's Basketball Team continues to climb the NCAA rankings.
The lady Canes moved up to No. 16 in both the AP Top 25 Poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll.
That's a five place improvement in the AP Poll and a four place improvement in the USA Today Poll.
This marks the first time since the end of the 2011-12 season that the Hurricanes have been in the top 20 in both polls.
Miami (17-2, 5-1 ACC) has risen 12 spots in the AP Poll and 11 in the USA Today poll over the past two weeks. The Canes have gone 4-0 during that span.
According to the new polls, the Canes received six top-15 votes. They appeared as high as No. 10 in Monday's balloting.
Only 14 teams in the country earned at least one top-10 vote.
The Hurricanes have the second-most victories in all of Division I. They are tied for eighth in winning percentage (.895).
Miami's next game will be a good test. They host No. 14/13 Florida State at the Bank United Center in Coral Gables.
