Canes Picked To Win Coastal Division
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The University of Miami was on the cusp of making it to the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game last year before the school self-imposed a postseason ban.
But, if the ACC media is right, the Canes will be playing for the championship come December.
Miami was picked as the winner of the Coastal Division during the annual ACC media days. The Canes were picked with 65 first-place votes. Virginia Tech was picked to finish second in the Coastal followed by North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, Virginia, and Duke.
In the Atlantic Division, the media believes the Clemson Tigers can dethrone the Florida State Seminoles, and it wasn't close. The Tigers received a total of 102 first-place votes to Florida State's 18. Following FSU in the rankings was: NC State, Wake Forest, Maryland, Syracuse, and Boston College.
Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd was selected as the ACC's Player of the Year, while Miami running back Duke Johnson finished second.
