CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami) – The University of Miami Men's Basketball Team has been one of the feel-good stories in the ACC this season.
The Canes began the season as an unranked dark horse that many thought could make a run at the NCAA Tournament.
It took Miami until the third week of new NCAA rankings to make their appearance in both the AP Top 25 and USA Today Coaches Poll and they have remained there ever since.
On Monday the latest rankings were released and the Hurricanes moved up in both, improving to No. 12 in the AP Poll and No. 11 in the USA Today Poll.
It's the highest that Miami has been ranked in a month.
Four weeks ago the Canes reached their highest point in both polls, showing up as No. 8 and No 9 before dropping to the mid-teens in both the following week.
Last week Miami came up with big wins against Notre Dame at home and Georgia Tech on the road.
This week the Hurricanes will host Pittsburgh on Tuesday before traveling up to Tallahassee for a road matchup with in-state rival Florida State on Sunday.
